Welcome to 109 Fernbank. Our sweet Cape Cod style home is situated in one of Delmar’s most desirable neighborhoods– Old Delmar– and, just like the name implies, you get that community feel the minute you arrive. Check out the video tour here. Take a stroll down the brand new sidewalks on tree-lined Fernbank Avenue and you are bound to run into a friendly neighbor walking their dog, a family out for a bike ride, or someone enjoying their daily run. Walk to Four Corners for groceries, a bite to eat or drink, or head by foot or bike to the Delmar’s Farmer’s Market. Hamagrael Elementary, one of Bethlehem’s most coveted elementary schools, and the middle school are also in walking distance from our home. In addition, the community library and the Bethlehem YMCA are close by. And, if you run out of sugar or need to borrow a gardening tool, you know you can depend on a neighbor to lend a helping hand
But it’s not just our neighborhood that has that old-time charm, our home maintains a number of charming details, like crown molding, original hardwood floors, and even an antique turn-key doorbell at the side entrance, which our young son just loves to ring. But, don’t let those charming details fool you, our home is full of updates including a fully renovated, open-concept custom kitchen complete with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, a fully renovated office, freshly painted exterior, a new driveway, and many energy efficient updates throughout.
We bought our home nearly a decade ago, and although we weren’t originally looking to buy outside of the city, we fell in love with our home’s large backyard and the charm of our lovely neighborhood. And, boy, are we happy we did. We have made so many wonderful memories in this home, from BBQ’s and block parties with our wonderful neighbors, celebrations and birthday parties for our children, and baseball games in our backyard. In fact, we love our neighborhood so much, we are moving only a few blocks away to a larger home to accommodate our growing family.
As our first home– and the one where we started our family– it feels bittersweet to leave it behind, but we know it is time for a new buyer to experience all that our home and neighborhood have to offer. We know you will feel right at home here too.
Fondly,
The Malatras Family
